12x24 Haleiwa Harbor

A few weeks ago our friends Ellen and Ryan asked if I would paint the historic Haleiwa bridge for them. I'm always excited to challenge myself and paint something new and they gave me complete creative freedom to put my own unique twist on this very popular landmark.

So many artist before me have photographed and painted this beautiful bridge on the North Shore of Oahu. I struggled at first to find a new way to paint the bridge, until we went and spent time at the location. I took at least 20 photos from different angles and decided on this one. I mixed both realistic and a whimsical style to create what I call "Haleiwa Harbor"  and am pleased to say they LOVE it.
