Spring forward!

Recap of the week: 

Spring is officially here and we've had some beautiful days this week. 

We are keeping busy with work, a guest, preparing for our upcoming trip and the return of the Fuzz (aka: our cats.)

I'm excited for my sisters upcoming bridal shower and other festivities. I'm really looking forward to seeing so many of our family and friends and to celebrate Katie and Chris!! I'm so happy for my sister and it's been so fun to help plan these special events with her dearest friends and my mom! 

We are also preparing for the long awaited return of our cats. They have spent the last 10 months with my parents. Now that we are back from the road trip and settled in we are ready to have them back with us, for good. We've missed them, but are so grateful for the opportunity to travel and for my parents generosity. No questions asked just love and support. 

In other news, I've started a Facebook page to display my Art and the Jewelry I design. Check it out! JES Design Studio 

We are working on a few new projects that involve pallets. 

I've been learning to cook Thai and Indian food.. Yum, the spices!! ( recipes to come)

New logo!

Lots and lots of pallets. 

Spring = Tulips  yeah!!! 

Today's project: a DIY pallet garden bench. I've been daydreaming about growing my own herbs and succulents like we did in Hawaii. We have the perfect spot with lots of sunshine. 

I was impressed with how quickly we were able to build this sturdy useful workstation on our back deck. I can wait to jazz it up with some hand painted clay pots and begin growing some basil, parsley and much more! 

Life.

We are trucking along. Interviews, apartment hunting, shooting, feeding

wild squirrels,finding a new church and beating the broncos in the Super Bowl!!   (okay, we didn't actually do the last one)

 

It's been a full two weeks! 

Ben has interviewed at several hospitals. I've gone with him to check things out in the various towns. We met a really cool couple that invited us to church, we went and loved it. We've gone down to see our friends that live south of the city and enjoyed target shooting on the farm. 

We are exploring our new home state. We've experienced several quintessential rainy Seattle days and even some beautiful sunny days that provide a fabulous view of the cascade mountain range.

Update

Its hard to believe its been over two months since we set out on our adventure. 

We've seen so many beautifully interesting things, I've already started a list of places I'd like to revisit. 

We've had lots of time to talk and begin figuring out our plan. We've been so blessed along the way. A smooth transition from Hawaii to Washington, great weather and amazingly generous friends. 

Our original plan was to road trip for 3-6 months and than begin travel nursing. After a lot of talking, praying and traveling we've decided that we are ready to go back to Washington and starting a new chapter. 

Travel nursing still sounds fun, but its a lot of moving, uncertainties  and well, we just don't want the hassle. We know we love the Pacific Northwest and we feel like its where we need to be.

So after two month (three by the time we return) we will return to the North west and start our new chapter. Ben will be interviewing at several hospitals and I will be working on making our home.

We are very excited and will be spending the first part of the new year getting settled in our new home town. This summer we should be ready to start having visitors. 

For now, we are enjoying our time with family. Its been over 4 years since we've been with them for the holidays.
