Recently I was asked by a friend to be a guest speaker in her classroom. She has been teaching a healthy eating series to her summer school class at a local private school. This weeks topic was healthy dairy.
So earlier this week I packed up my VitaMix and headed to the school to hang with the 1st and 2nd graders. I decided to make smoothies using non-fat Greek yogurt.
We talked about healthy dairy choices like non fat milk and greek yogurt and how we can incorporate them into our diet. The kids also learned about the importance of calcium and protein.
We made not one smoothie to share, but three! We started with mixed berries, greek yogurt, coconut water and agave.
The kids loved it so much they asked for another, and another. I made the next smoothie with pineapple, mango, greek yogurt, apple juice and agave.
The kids were so sweet. The next day they made thank you cards for us.
