Lassen Volcanic

Yesterday we drove to Lassen Volcanic National park in northeastern California.
Driving into the park we reached 8,500 ft elevation and hiked out to Bumpass Hell, a 3 mile (total) hike to a hydrothermal area.
The views are beautiful as we hiked through the mountain and down the valley to the steaming, bubbling pools heated by a lava bed 6 miles below the surface.

This rock was shiny and very cold.

Last night we camped in the National Park. We realized this was our first time doing so, all the other parks have been state or privately owned.
I made my first solo fire, while Ben was out cutting wood.

Today we drove through Nevada to south Lake Tahoe.
